Christmas Eve

Matching Jammies!!!! This is the best picture of Christmas!!!!

Our Christmas Eve was pretty uneventful because Hunter wasn't feeling good. He started getting sick on Thursday and gradually got worse each day. We weren't able to make it to church this year. We did have a bunch of appetizers at our house and tried to keep Hunter as happy as possible.
The best part of the evening was leaving a writing a letter to Santa and leaving him cookies and milk. Matt's uncle Jim and aunt Cindy sent us the cutest plate and mug set for this- thanks!!! Caitlin asked Santa for yellow toys and a bobcat.

I finally got my picture I wanted with both kids. It was getting late in the evening so it turned out pretty good:) Love them to pieces!!!!

SANTA!!!

Well you can see how Caitlin did with Santa. She did so good until she got about 2 feet away from him and then she shut down. She did smile at Santa when he gave her a candy cane, but she did NOT want to sit on his lap. Hunter did awesome. He was Santa's little buddy.
Caitlin told Santa's helper that she wants Santa to bring her "toys." And when you ask her what kind of toys, she says "yellow" ones. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but it's kind of funny.
I was really hoping for a picture with me and my two kids because we all matched, but as you can see, that didn't happen. Maybe on Christmas Day.
What a cute picture! This was her excited to see Santa.... before she got too close! Next year she'll probably like him and Hunter will be the one that's scared.

After we went and saw Santa at Bass Pro Shops, we drove through the Festival of Lights. Luckily Pa helped us find a shortcut, otherwise we would have been in line for at least an hour. Caitlin got to sit in the front seat on Pa's lap and she absolutely loved seeing all the lights. Next year we're going to plan on going to the parade. What a fun night, we all had a great time!!!!
Merry Christmas!

New Toys

Caitlin got a camera for Christmas that she LOVED! She would not share. When we got home, she had already taken 110 pictures (mostly of nothing) but she was having so much fun with it and telling everyone to say cheese... especially Hunter. Hunter got a mega blocks table from Aunt Kel that he has loved playing with. As you can see, he has started pulling himself up on everything and would just prefer to stand in front of something. He's getting too big. I'm not ready for him to be walking which I'm afraid is going to happen way too soon.
I had to post the pictures of Caitlin because she usually won't smile for the camera, but I got some big cheesers from her, too cute.
Last weekend was like a warm-up for Christmas morning. I'm afraid we're not going to have room for all their new toys. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky:)

Christmas at the Streit's

Megan (6), Hunter (8mos.), Caitlin (2), Kristen (20mos.), and Holly (4)
Last weekend was Christmas at my parents house. It's so much fun for the cousins to all play together. It was a great weekend. This picture actually turned out a lot better than I had expected. You can see below some that didn't go so well.Posing for the camera- I love this picture!!!
Hunter and his new hat.

Holly was trying to make Caitlin stay in the chair to get her picture taken, yikes!

Big girl bed update...

Caitlin did great last night. She slept all night and in fact, when I opened her door this morning, she was still sleeping and in the exact same spot where she fell asleep. There was nothing sweeter.

Tonight didn't go as great. Every time I tried leaving, she started crying and wanted to come with me. I left to go put Hunter to bed and daddy laid down with her. He stayed until she was just about to sleep (and he loved every second of it!!)

Our little baby is growing up:(

Big Girl Bed

Look who made himself comfortable already, darn Peter!
Hunter wanted to check out the big bed too!
Caitlin was so excited for her brand new Big Girl Bed. Although she had never tried climbing out of her crib, we figured it was time for a big bed. She's sleeping on a cot at the babysitter's so I'm hoping the transition is easy. I can't believe she's not in a crib anymore, but I'm excited for cuddling at bedtime reading books.

1st nap- not a success!!!
I took Caitlin into her room for nap time. We were reading books trying to get calmed down. I stayed in with her for about 25 minutes and decided I should leave so she could try to get to sleep. A little later, she was knocking on the door so I went in and told her to lay down. I figured after an hour and a half that she was probably not going to take a nap. I headed to her room when I heard her pounding on the door. I opened it and she was standing there with only her t-shirt on. She told me she had to go poopy so we went to the bathroom, no success. So I asked her if she already went..... and she definitely had. She had pooped in her diaper, taken it off and somehow got poop on her brand new pillow sham and the white flannel sheets from scooching off the bed. I'd say it's going to take a little time to transition. So mommy re-made the bed for the 2nd time today.
Bedtime went better, but we haven't made it through the night yet......

Decorating...

What a sweet smile...
Posing in front of the tree with his xmas shirt on (before he tried pulling it over). I took Hunter to the dr. Saturday and he has his first ear infection. Ironically, he's been sleeping and acting so much better than he has. He had a major meltdown on Wed. which must have been the start of the infection. Let's all pray he continues sleeping through the night, mommy really needs it!what a face!
And just when I ran downstairs to get more ornaments for the tree, Caitlin must have decided that Hunter needed to finish his bottle. He's such a good sport!

TREE

How precious is this???? First time for Caitlin to help us look for Mr. Tree. She was so excited! Hunter can come next year...
Helping daddy?!?!?!Caitlin was helping daddy get the tree just right. and she enjoyed playing with the screwdriver to "fix it". Lucky nobody got hurt!
Now it's time to decorate it! Hopefully Hunter won't use the tree to pull himself up. He's decided to be a big boy and stand up! HELP!
